    Who Should Apply?

What really interests you?
  • Do you ask alot of questions and wonder why things happen?
  • Are you fascinated with living things and how they grow?
  • Do you take pleasure in building things or finding out how they work?
  • Do you enjoy doing puzzles and math challenges?
  • Do you use the computer for more than playing games?

Do you understand how important your education is to your future?

  • Are you willing to work hard in high school?
  • Do you appreciate extra attention from your teachers?
  • Do you do more than is necessary so you’ll understand?
  • Do you enjoy academic competitions, like Science Fair?
  • Would you benefit from working with other students who share your interests and commitment?

What do you want to do with your life?

  • Do you want to make a difference in the world?
  • Do you see problems such as space travel, disease, and pollution as challenges you want to help solve?
  • Do you picture yourself working with people, or computers, or complex equipment?

If you answered yes to many of these questions, then the Academy might be for you.

  • The Academy isn’t for everyone, however.
  • There are good programs and teachers at every one of our CISD high schools.
  • The Academy’s special atmosphere, high expectations, and personal environment may not be what you want or need.
  • But if you think you would be challenged and do well in the Academy, please apply.

This will be your only opportunity to apply!
