NCSSSMST
The Academy has been a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (NCSSSMST) since 1991. Academy Headmaster Dr. Ron Laugen served on the NCSSSMST Board from 1993-1995, editing and publishing the Newsletter. He is currently a reviewer for the NCSSSMST Journal and is 2005-2006 NCSSSMST President. Mr. Larry Walker served on the NCSSSMST Board from 19997-2003 and is currently NCSSSMST Coordinator of the Keystone Center Policy Summit [www.keystone.org].
NCSSSMST hosts two annual events in which Academy students participate - the Student Conference in October and the Research Symposium. [www.ncsssmst.org]
The Academy and PAST, together with Montgomery College and the Houston Advanced Research Center, hosted over 300 students and teachers for the 1998 NCSSSMST Student Conference: The World in 2020 - Transition to Sustainability.
