Internship
Each Academy student
is required to complete one 80-hour internship with
a mentor in the scientific, technical, or medical community
during their junior or senior year or during the summer.
The internship is designed to provide an in-depth experience
in an area of student interest and 80 hours is a minimum
requirement. The student is evaluated by his/her mentor
during and at the end of the internship and is visited
by the faculty intern coordinator. The student must
also write a report and make a presentation based on
the internship and will earn one-half unit of local
credit. Internship may be completed after sophomore
or junior year, or during the junior or senior year.
