Academy Curriculum
The Academy curriculum
is organized around core and choice courses. Students
will take their science, mathematics, computer science
and some technology courses within the Academy. English,
social studies, foreign language, and other graduation
requirements and elective courses will be taken within
the home campus. Explorations and Internship require Saturday,
vacation, and summer work.

To graduate from the Academy, at a minimum students
must: (1) complete the core science and technology courses;
(2) complete four years of mathematics; (3) complete
AP chemistry, AP biology, or AP physics and one other
advanced course; (4) complete Exploration, Internship,
and Project (Research and Problems) requirements; and
(5) meet all requirements of the CISD 24-credit graduation
plan. Most students exceed the minimum requirements.

All courses taught in the Academy are honors/pre-AP
unless designated otherwise. Some courses are advanced
placement (AP) and/or dual-credit with Montgomery College.
Most Academy graduates will meet the requirements for
the Texas Distinguished Achievement Program Diploma.

We reserve the right to modify our curriculum and requirements
based on staffing, funding, enrollment and scheduling.
